Mud is the New Black

The main body of my day was taken up by a completely mistimed cycling experience from which I returned both totally drenched and completely filthy. On the way back some youthful and sarcastic git had the cheek to whistle at me. The fool; does he not know that mud is the new black? Anyway, I rather enjoyed my bike ride. Out of interest… is it technically stealing to bring back the majority of the old railway cycle route as a facial accessory?

Mistimed as my venture was, my return could not have been better planned; I had just enough time to find myself under the caking of mud and make myself presentable to find my dinner waiting merrily on a plate. There’s something welcoming about bangers and mash with salad and gravy that warms my little heart. Thanks, Mum. :)

Also, I made a youtube video of me singing and playing guitar; that’s right, I finally (FINALLY!) did it. It seems to have been well received, so I’m going to try to make it a weekly thing. No doubt this will last under a month because I’m probably less organised than a blind sloth planning a last minute dinner party for a pride of lions.

Thanks for reading!

First Impressions

When I was back at home for Christmas I was waiting for the bus into town on a bank holiday. When I finally realised that buses don’t generally run 45 minutes late I began walking to town. I came across the next stop and I saw two people sitting down waiting. They looked a little intimidating but I thought I’d warn them that the buses ran weirdly on bank holidays anyway, one shouldn't trust first impressions. They thanked me but expressed their intention to wait and so I walked on. About thirty seconds later the girl ran towards me shouting to tell me the bus was there. I thought that was a genuinely lovely thing to do, she insisted I went on first. But this wasn’t the end of it, later on an old lady got off the bus, and evidently she left her purse on the seat because the self-same girl ran after her, off the bus even though it wasn’t her stop and gave it back to the woman before continuing to walk.

Things like that are beautiful, I’m glad I was on the bus that day.

Hugs,

Roon.

How to Procrastinate But Still Be ‘Revising’

· Write out any past exam questions in your neatest handwriting,

· Pick out the values given in the question and write them out, again in your neatest handwriting, they have to be in a box that has been neatly drawn with a ruler,

· Write any equations relating your values very neatly in a box, which has to be drawn with a ruler, you may have to cross-check the equations with one or two other sources,

· Go back and highlight the values you’ve already written out again, lest you forget,

· Write a short paragraph explaining how any relationships between values were originally determined and a brief history detailing the life of the scientist(s) involved,

· Write out each stage of any calculations you need to do, don’t amalgamate equations, that would save space and time, remember to use your neatest handwriting,

· ‘Accidentally’ make a mistake in calculating your answer so you have to repeat this process, it’s no use to revise from if it’s messy,

· When you’ve repeated the process and you’ve given up the pretence that you’re doing ‘real’ work, take a coffee break and write a pretentious blog post about procrastinating.

;) Toodles.
