First Impressions

When I was back at home for Christmas I was waiting for the bus into town on a bank holiday. When I finally realised that buses don’t generally run 45 minutes late I began walking to town. I came across the next stop and I saw two people sitting down waiting. They looked a little intimidating but I thought I’d warn them that the buses ran weirdly on bank holidays anyway, one shouldn't trust first impressions. They thanked me but expressed their intention to wait and so I walked on. About thirty seconds later the girl ran towards me shouting to tell me the bus was there. I thought that was a genuinely lovely thing to do, she insisted I went on first. But this wasn’t the end of it, later on an old lady got off the bus, and evidently she left her purse on the seat because the self-same girl ran after her, off the bus even though it wasn’t her stop and gave it back to the woman before continuing to walk.

Things like that are beautiful, I’m glad I was on the bus that day.

Hugs,

Roon.
